Our first wing hunt of 2026 turned into the perfect mix of local finds, road trip adventure, and a little bit of everything in between.

Tisha met me at my house, and we kicked things off right here in Indiana — finally stopping at a couple of wing murals I’ve passed thousands of times on my way to work. I’ve driven by these so many times but never stopped for photos (mostly because I wasn’t about to take wing selfies in my work uniform 😄). It felt so good to finally check those off the list!
📍 Fort Branch, Indiana – Senior Tequila

📍 Princeton, Indiana – Lupe’s Mexican Restaurant

From there, we headed into Southern Illinois and made a full loop out of the day.
📍 Mt. Carmel, Illinois – Eclectic Boutique
We even squeezed in a little shopping here.

📍 Albion, Illinois – Colyer Coffee House
Hands down one of the cutest little coffee shops — such a great stop.

📍 Mt. Vernon, Illinois – Ring Side Cafe
Grabbed a couple sets of wings here before continuing on.

📍 Christopher, Illinois
A town I had never even heard of — but they had wings AND the cutest leftover Christmas selfie spots still set up. Definitely worth the stop!

📍 Herrin, Illinois
We hit up the town’s wings and refueled with our favorite road trip snack… Wendy’s chicken nuggets 😄

📍 Marion, Illinois
This town really embraces murals and street art — so many great spots!

📍 Harrisburg, Illinois
This one came with a little local story… apparently a wing mural here was removed after complaints from someone in the community. Always a bummer to hear, but part of the reality of public art but, we did discover an AMAZING three-story vintage antique mall downtown — we spent some time exploring before heading on.
From there, we crossed into Kentucky for one last stop:
📍 Morganfield, Kentucky
Our final set of wings for the day before heading home.

We wrapped up the entire adventure just in time to meet my husband and family at Hornville Tavern — and somehow scored a free dinner to end the night 😄

🪽 This is exactly why I love these wing hunts.
They start with a couple of simple stops and turn into full-day, multi-state adventures filled with unexpected finds, good food, and lots of laughs.
