We kicked off our February wing hunt bright and early… well… kind of 😄
What should have been a simple 5-hour drive somehow turned into an 11-hour zig-zag adventure. Instead of taking the highway, we wandered our way north — hitting small towns, chasing wings, and stopping anywhere that looked interesting along the way.
And honestly? Those are always the best trips.
❄️ Cold Weather, Late Nights & Determination
Heading both north and back home, it was getting dark — and freezing.
But that didn’t stop us.
We bundled up, turned on the car headlights for lighting, and kept going. Cold, tired, but determined — because no wing gets left behind 😂
📍 Stops Along the Way
Here’s everywhere we stopped on our wild zig-zag route:
1. Oakland City, Indiana
📍 A Tail of 2 Dogs
Our first stop and a fun way to kick off the day.

- Washington, Indiana
☕ Coffee stop (because obviously)
We sipped on Cherry Ghost coffee while exploring downtown.

3. Linton, Indiana
📍 Sportsman Pub
Two sets of wings here — always a win 🙌

4. Brazil, Indiana
Quick wing stop +
🍗 Mandatory Wendy’s chicky nug break

5. Mansfield, Indiana
📍 Iconic Red Barn Wings
Such a cool and unique stop!

6. Rockville, Indiana
🛍 Rockville Retro — one of the coolest vintage shops
🍷 The Drunk Tank Wine Bar (inside an old jail basement!)
And this might be the BEST part…
👉 The bartender was the artist who painted the wings!!
We bonded over wine, talked wings, and she even joined the group 🥹

7. Covington, Indiana
Two sets of wings right on the square — quick but worth it!

8. Hoopeston, Illinois
📍 Parlour on Main
By now it was dark, but we kept going anyway

9. Remington, Indiana
Final stop of the night
Wings + a giant gummy bear (because why not 😂)

🌆 Day 2 — Exploring Chicago
After turning a 5-hour drive into an 11-hour adventure 😅, we finally checked into our hotel, got a good night’s rest, and woke up ready to explore Chicago.
And let me tell you… this is where the wing magic really kicked in ✨☕ Starting the Day
We eased into the morning (because we earned it 😂), grabbed some coffee, bundled up again, and headed out to start hunting wings in the city.
Chicago has so many incredible murals, and it felt like every corner had something new to discover.

🪽 Wings, City Views & So Many Stops
This part of the trip was a mix of:
- Walking
- Driving
- “Wait… turn around, I think I saw wings back there!” 😂
We hit multiple neighborhoods, each with its own vibe, style, and artists.
💜 Wrapping Up the Trip
Between the long scenic drive, the small town stops, and a full day exploring Chicago…
This wing hunt turned into one of our favorite adventures so far.
And of course…
We’re already planning the next one 😉
